John 16:32-33

32 Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

What soothing words for us to read and contemplate. As I read these words, I find great comfort and encouragement knowing that, even during difficulty, I can have peace in Him. Why? He gives us the answer: "I have overcome the world.” Overcome—what exactly does He mean? Simply this, He has conquered sin and death, which most men fear, at the Cross.

In this triumph of His, we can rest. As His disciples, we too shall share in the victory and will hear the cry one day as the voices of heaven declare, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing” (Revelation 5:12 ESV). Later in the text, we read that the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshipped.

Oh that we would not wait until we get to heaven to express ourselves as the elders will. May we fall down and worship Him daily.

Blessings on your Journey,
